Dental Hygiene
Keeping your mouth clean and healthy
We offer a full range of Hygiene and Specialist Periodontal Treatments
Dental Hygiene
The overwhelming majority of our regular patients come to us as part of their effort to maintain their healthy mouths. Our emphasis is on prevention, ensuring you know how to maintain cleaning.
Most of our patients are encouraged to see a hygienist up to 4 times per year. Our aim is
- help you keep your gums healthy;
- prevent gum disease developing in the future
Attending your dentist and hygienist appointments allows us to spot early signs of gum problems. It is much easier to manage and reverse problems at an early stage and treatment will be more straightforward.

AirFlow Stain Removal
Do you have stubborn surface stains from coffee, tea, red wine, or smoking that won’t budge with regular brushing? Airflow treatment offers a revolutionary, gentle solution to restore your teeth’s natural brightness. This advanced polishing technique uses a controlled, precise stream of warm water, air, and very fine powder particles. This three-in-one combination efficiently lifts away external discolouration and dental plaque without ever needing to touch or scrape your tooth enamel, making it a highly effective and comfortable adjunct to traditional polishing methods.
One of the greatest benefits of Airflow is its superior comfort and reach. It is an ideal option for patients with sensitive teeth, dental anxiety, or those who find traditional scaling and polishing uncomfortable. The fine mist reaches into the trickiest nooks and crannies such as in between tight teeth, along the gum line. The process is quick, often reducing the time needed for your hygiene appointment, and results are immediate, leaving you with a noticeably brighter, cleaner, and incredibly smooth-feeling smile.
Specialist Periodontal (Gum) Treatment
We have a number of specialist periodontists who can provide care for periodontal (gum) disease.
FAQs
What do healthy gums look like?
Healthy gums are pale pink in colour and don’t bleed when you brush your
teeth. Healthy gums hold your teeth tightly in place in your jaw. If you have
healthy gums, you are less likely to lose your teeth as you get older.
How do I tell if I have gum disease?
Many patients who have gum disease are not aware of it, therefore screening with your dentist is very important.
Why are healthy gums important?
There is a growing body of evidence linking periodontal disease and systemic diseases. The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) states “Gum disease is a threat to your oral health. Research is also pointing to possible health effects of periodontal diseases that go well beyond your mouth.”
